About Us

As a Home Performance Insulation Contractor, we are trained and certified through the Building Performance Institute.  We apply their "best approach" methodologies and teach you about them in terms you can understand. By doing this you are receiving all the facts so that the buying decision you are left to make is the best one possible. The Home Performance concept really is nothing new.  It’s proven science developed over the course of years in the making.

It all began back in the late 60’s and early 70’s, with scientists who were developing radically new thermal engineering process for the NASA Space Program. These scientists needed to develop technology and processes for the Space Capsules so they could sustain a consistent 72 degrees Fahrenheit indoor cabin temperature, as well as create pure indoor air flow throughout the cabin environment. The really amazing part about all of this is that these scientists succeeded in achieving their goals -- even under the extremely hostile environment conditions of deep space. Imagine preparing a spacecraft so that it can withstand extreme temperatures ranging from minus (450) degrees Fahrenheit -to plus (300) degrees Fahrenheit, with only enough energy to light up 4 light bulbs.

Example: Did you know that the Apollo Command Module could sustain 72 degrees Fahrenheit using only 400 watts of electricity?  It's true.

Some of these same scientists like, Dr. Michael Busby, P.E., who is now the director of the world-renowned TSU Center of Excellence in Information Systems Engineering and Management, he worked tirelessly for years to engineer similar results for the home environment. Did you know that on a cold day, within one hour, a typical 1,800 square foot house may lose more than 100 times the amount of energy needed to power the Apollo spacecraft?

At 6 Insulation Services, we do something ninety-five percent of the “other guys” won’t do―we conduct diagnostic tests to measure and determine exactly where all the problem insulation areas are. We then develop a step-by-step blueprint-plan on how to properly seal them all; plus help you maximize every dollar you invest. Based on proven building science and the results of years of testing by top building experts, there is a step-by-step process to getting you the results you need:

  • Lower monthly utility bills
  • Increase comfort throughout your home
  • Healthier indoor air quality
  • Safer environment
